A friend recommended the Targus mobile laptop charger ( Targus Mobile Laptop Charger (DC) | APD80US) to me as the most durable one she's owned. The problem is that Targus has a tip listed for the T410 but not the T420.

Does anyone know if the tip (L 112) will work on the 420?

I gather the power connector has been moved to the back but I wonder if it was changed in any other way.... Lenovo recommends their own DC charger at $119 but I can get the Targus online for under $50.

if it works for the T410 then it will work for the T420. The power jack is the same between the Lenovo Thinkpad T, R, X, W series (W70x and W520 uses slightly different design, W510 requires 135 watt power rating adapter).

If it is any encouragement, my T420s is currently plugged into a Kensington PSU that pre-dates the T420s by at least a couple of years.
