I have a roughly 50mm wide port on the side of my computer, and I have heard I can plug in a real graphics card here. I have Intel internal grapics now, and i use XP.

How much will this cost (how cheap can it be had)?
What are the limitations for power and bandwidth?

It's kind of a roundabout way of finding out more about the ViDock, but I made this thread asking about upgrades for my X200. The viDock was an option for graphics performance, and apparently since the X4500MHD(I'm assuming you have a T400 with the X4500 instead of the HD3470 hybrid) works with Nvidia's Cuda, you can get it to display on your notebook's internal LCD. Just go through the second and third pages and I start asking questions about the Vidock. Looks pretty straight-forward, but it is a bit costly.

it is not Nvidia's CUDA that allows display on the Internal LCD, but Optimus. CUDA is just parallel computing.
