All I had to do was go into the Lenovo set up scan my finger and everything worked fine!

It is really convenient not to have to type my password every time I want to access something an dis great for loging into windows.

When you boot up there will be a screen that walks you through the whole process of setting it up and tell you everything you need to know. No need to hash it all out here. There is a function claled Password Manager that can remember your passwords for websites but I've never used it.

The fingerprint reader on the Thinkpad is premium product. It not only scans your fingerprint, but also scans the electric charge under finger's tissue. That means if somebody tries to cut your finger and uses it on the thing, it won't work.

Actually the websites that you have to type a user name and password to, you can have the option to just scan you fingerprint, and log on. I have my bank account, online forms, and my AOL mail, all at the swipe of a finger :) The only thing that I found is that you have to sign off, and then when you sign back on, it asks you for your fingerprint. If you just put your computer to sleep, or hibernate, and not totally shut it down, it will not ask you for a fingerprint, and you will have to type everything in manually.

This is just from my experience.

    Hope that helps !

Not entirely true, you have 15 minutes to get the finger over to the scanner (bottom of page 13): http://www.pc.ibm.com/us/pdf/Fingerprint_Reader_white_paper.pdf
