Unless you had accidental damage cover, you'd be stupid for doing that on purpose.

did the water come out of the spill proof hole?

i wouldn't do that personally; its like one of those people that drop their thinkpad on purpose; errr... it can withstand drop better than any other computer; but its still gonna DAMAGE IT!!!!!!!

The ads also say to NOT try this on purpose and that they do not condone such intentional abuse. Sometimes it's fun to be a little silly, but only if it isn't costly. If that's your notebook, I'd consider it a costly act, but of course if $1000 is small change, then I guess it's fine. :)

You have to be totally bored or maybe should work for a company that tests equipment on behalf of the manufacturer....

My car maker says that I will live if I am driving their vehicle whilst wearing a seatbelt and prang into something at 40Kph. I might end up as a vegetable...but at least I will live. So they are cleared.

I don't think that I will unecessarily put their claims to the test though.

Your computer might be OK after this test. But what about six months down the line when it starts behaving erratically when stuff has corroded.....

Your computer also then is a vegetable. Sure it works sort of some of the time......

    Get my point?

    Cheers,
    Theo

So much judgement, so little acknowledgement of the fact that the advertised feature didn't actually work.

To the OP, I think you have to use a lot more water than that. :p

You have to turn it on for the water pump to work.

Well, I mean, if someone were to actually spill a glass of water would the spill-resistant keyboard work? In theory it should if they advertise it that way, so I don't see why this would be a problem. I'm pretty sure I saw the promo video fro the T61 and it showed the spill-proof keyboard feature and the water draining out.

So you're going to test it? This really was a frivolous abuse of equipment.

As long as he does it to his laptop, who cares? Too bad the video isn't up.

If somebody introduced my keyboard to a glass of water, however, that would be a mite different.

I know people that have spilled beer on their thinkpad (college campus) and the laptops keep trucking. Try alcohol next time.
