I purchased a Thinkpad T60p in February to later realize a few day later that my
laptop had a BSOD. I sent the laptop in for repair 3 times before they listened to me and got it right. It turned out it was one of the faulty ATI V5200 video card laptops. In my darkest hours with my thinkpad I found help, strength, advice from fellow sufferers of laptop computer troubles. The Notebook Forums were an immense help to me and continue to be so, others can attest to this. I'd just like to thank all of the users who contribute and make this site the most helpful site on the net and importantly many thanks to the administrators and moderators who efficiently and continuously make this site available to everyone who needs it. If you have had your laptop troubles solved by the forums at Notebook Review please give thanks for NBR.

I totally agree with you. I bought a Dell, and NBR got me through so much. I know this is the same with many people on the Dell forums with all the waiting times and such. It is truly a community over there in the Dell forum, as well as in NBR overall. I've already thanked NBR in my own way (post to Dell forums), but I'll do it again. Even though all my issues are resolved, I'm still on this website. Why you ask? Because it's a damn good website and I'm referring it to ALL my tech and non-tech friends. People don't talk nonsense on this board like they do on others. They are very succinct and it is extremely helpful. And props to the moderators and administrators for doing a great job monitoring the boards.

    Thank you Notebook Review.

The only thing that I DON'T like about NBR is it is making me worried reading about all the Thinkpad T61 problems! :O I hope my T61 ends up being good, it's my first laptop!

Im sure it will be, computer manufacturers will always have defects and problems with their products. This goes for every company, people say dell's give problems and they are the worst computer to buy, but I have two dell desktops and they work without any problems, but I guess notebooks are whole other situation.

    Good luck!!

RPA899 is right...I've heard many people saying Dell is crap, Lenovo is crap, Acer is crap, Toshiba is crap, etc.

What I know is that I worked on different notebooks (Acer, Lenovo, Dell and Toshiba) and none of them had a single hardware/build quality problem

I don't say that such problems don't exist but don't trust people who GENERALIZE

I offer my own personal thanks to NBR for the gained knowledge and help.
And I offer my own theory on the problems with all these laptops- people take the time to get on the internet and post when things go wrong, not when things go right! Considering the massive amount of laptops out there and the fact that so many users are coming to one public forum to talk about their problems, the actual percentage of faulty machines is probably pretty low, so don't worry about it!
