I have a question about the T400 and its WWAN capabilities. I have a friend who's coming over from the US who I can arrange to buy a laptop there and bring it to me here in the Philippines because it's so much cheaper. What I want to know is - is the T400's AT&T WWAN adapter usable for me as a 3G modem in my country?

In theory, it should, because we also have iPhones here, so the technology should be compatible. However, AT&T might do something to lock the 3G capabilities. Anyone know the answer?

I'm curious about this as well. I was under the impression that the WWAN card already was unlocked. Are there steps that I need to take to get it unlocked? Does anyone have phone numbers/web sites that I need to go to get my WWAN card unlocked? Also, if you have a WWAN card, can you get service from AT&T or another GSM carrier WITHOUT a contract? I don't travel enough to make $1440 over two years worthwhile for a supplemental plan, but there are months when I am out of town for a long stretch and $60 for a month of internet would be reasonable.
