Seem like the prices of the T61p and T61 are going down a little, Can someone PM me a EPP login so I can pull the the trigger on a T61p while the prices are down some.

Use this also, I found, "Save up to $325 on Thinkpad T Series notebooks during our Back to School sale plus take an extra 10% off with eCoupon code: USPJULYT72. Hurry, this eCoupon is only good through July 22!"

Search for Visa and use that method, or search for SPP and use that one - it should get you pretty close to the EPP price (EPP doesn't actually save you much, it's combining all the offers that makes it all worth it....)

    Cheese and Rice!!!

Google for the SPP code it'll turn up.

Then just stack all these coupons and go for it...

    fatwallet.com (3.5% ;) + SPP (5%) + couponcode USXIBMSPPTRIPLE (5%) + AMEX/TM (5% at the lowest)

    AMEX/Tailormade Discount
    *5% off purchases between $1,100 and $1,299.99

    *7% off purchases between $1,300 and $1,599.99

*10% off purchases of $1,600 and higher

That's at least 18.5% (or more depending on how much you spend on AMEX/TM) on top of the current sale price! What are you waiting for? EPP is only going to give you another 5% because you can't use the coupon code USXIBMSPPTRIPLE with EPP. It is a SPP only code. Hence the coupon code says "SPP Triple".

I say do the SPP/academic AND the USPJULYT72 coupon. Then you save 15%, and I haven't even included Fatwallet and AMEX/Visa yet.

Finally a sale can beat the Memorial Day sale, which was the best sale before this one. Although, I'll have to start a little controversy by not re-explaining how I was able to get a deal back then as good as today's deal is. To be honest though, I am including the fact that I got a free battery because of the May 9th-24th delays.

Sometimes I think we're being penny-wise and pound-foolish. We all want to pull the trigger at the right moment and perhaps even brag about it when we do.

In the end, you're either happy with your purchase, or you're not. In my opinion EPP is way overblown and should not be the reason for you to pull the proverbial trigger.

Potential buyers are given many suggestions here on NBR as to savings. Forget EPP and think about the laptop you want. Then just go ahead and buy it. If it's junk, you'll know soon enough.

I love my T61, by the way. Imperfections and all :D

as far as i can see, the t61p has dropped 10.00

    whoopta freaking doo.

as for pulling trigger at the right moment, there is no right moment. with 21 day price adjustment, every day is the right moment, as long as your bloody computer exists to be purchased online.

Way too much logic in the last two posts. People get caught up in a few dollars of the price plus or minus, and you can tell it's less about the actual difference of money to them, more like a score of sorts.

Like those who list along with specs, the cost of their system in their signatures! lol I think this happens with specs too to some extent.

Yeah, this is finally a sale that matches back at the end of May. Only difference is if you order today you will probably get your machine before the people in may ever get theirs.

Same configured machine for me is about 40 bucks cheaper than it was 2 months ago.

Although unlike 2 months ago, the R series will actually save you 90 bucks instead of costing you more because of the extra % discounts they gave to the T series.

Man, you can actually get a pretty good machine now for 1200.

Hey Flight# 24 Thanks very much. The USPJULYT72* Plus the SPP* would really either equal or exceed the Meyer EPP discount from May. Total saving to me would be $650.00 before the tax. Thanks.

Thanks to Flight #24 I finally pulled the trigger today on a T61. I would have gotten the T61p, but not a fan of the display option. So, I settle for the T61 and save about $ 300.00. Only thing I am not getting is an intergrated web camera. But I see Lenovo offer a Lenovo USB webcam I can attach to the top of the lid if I really need a webcam. OK, this is my specs:

Not a bad system. It has UWB. I think it should last at least 3 years before I need a updated system. This is my first Thinkpad. My other laptop was a Dell 8100 Inspirion. Let me know what you think of the specs... $$650.00 total saving... :D NICE

Ok, so maybe he would save a few bucks installing those himself, but it's almost a wash. The 2G RAM upgrade is definitely almost the same price as getting it yourself, same with the ITM. Having Lenovo install it saves you from having to rip the case open. I went through the same throught process and right now the prices are so good it doesn't hurt to just have them build it.

Since you just ordered yesterday, I'd just cancel your current order and place a new order with the coupon.

Lenovo cannot make price adjustments until the laptop has shipped. That's what my CSR told me.

So, Kebs, did you get a quote? When I get a quote I don't get an e-mail like it says I am suppose to. I just wrote down the Order/Quote# and the price. I also made a screen shot. Does anyone else actually get an e-mail. It says "you will get an e-mail shortly" but it doesn't show up. I did this once about a month ago... same thing????

I don't want to call customer service until after it actually ships. I'm afraid they will screw up my order.

Not sure. I called to pricematch, but he needed the quote/order number.

I ordered a T61p about a week ago without using USPJULYT72. The laptop hasn't shipped but the advanced mini dock has (also, I opened it). At this point, can I easily cancel the rest of my order?

If so, what will I have to do with the dock? Obviously, I'd rather keep it than send it back and pay 15% restocking. If I do that, will I lose my Amex/Fatwallet discounts on it?

When i called to get my price adjustment, i had to reconfigure the exact same specs as my order and then at the end, you have to press the "convert to quote" button. It should then give you a quote number that starts with Q for quote request order. The CSR will then use that number to generate a price adjustment request in your account. There's no confirmation of anything, so I would write down that quote request number order or save the page incase you never get the adjustment. It should have the time and date that you requested it, so if you're within 21 days, you should be good to go.

Yeah, I will upgrade to 4 gigs of ram when I know that T61 is a keeper (no hardware problems). Turbo Memory is about $ 35.00 at amazon. I have Vista Ultimate retail on a desktop. I was going to try to use it on the T61. but MS vista activation is strict.

I don't think you see my point. You can buy the 2GB of RAM separately and install it yourself and save some money.

Why do you need Vista Ultimate?

No, no email for me. I have about 20 different quotes. Different configurations. I just print out the quote page.

Yeah, spOOn I see your point. I have checked the memory out at Newegg, Crucial, Fry. I would save about $50.00 depending on when I purchased it. But I will put 4 gigs in when I know I am going to keep the T61 (Hardware problems free). BTW the retail version of Vista has 32-bit & 64-bit versions.
