I was just thinking. I could save even more with a EPP and the 10% summer discount. Since the shipping date is 08/22/2007 anyway. I could just call up on Monday and cancel. Use someone's EPP log in and save. SOMEONE "PLEASE' PM (Private Message) me the EPP log in :radar: :radar: Anyone?? :radar:

If you are an IBM shareholder you can use the following link:
    http://www.ibm.com/investor/services/offers.phtml
There is a User ID (536686) on the forum, but you will take your own risk by using other people's account.

For SPP, there is another coupon USXIBMSPPTRIPLE:
Save an extra 15% on ThinkPad Tablet notebooks.
Save an extra 10% on ThinkPad X Series notebooks.
Save an extra 5% on ThinkPad R and T Series notebooks and ThinkCentre A Series desktops.

    Here is the link:
    http://shoplenovo.i2.com/ISS_Static.../affinity/Popup_affinity_spp_exp07302007.html

I suggest you use Student & Alumni site (5% off) plus the 10% off coupon (USPJULYT72). That is 15% off and you don't need to risk your order.

^^ I would help you out if I had a EPP log in, however I don't work for IBM/Lenovo unfortunately.

I am going to order a T61 by tomorrow the latest, and I too am desperately making calls to see if anyone I know might know someone else who works for Lenovo.

So if anyone can PM a EPP login ID, I too would be forever grateful. In fact I will even create a signature dedicating my appreciation towards the awesome poster who provides me with the EPP info. :D

It's against the rules on most forums to ask this, and it's in dubious taste to repeatedly ask over & over.

Also, the person's whose account is shared could get suspended or canceled due to order limits. I think we saw that yesterday on this forum with someone who was unable to do the "create order" or the "create quote" steps.

An IBM epp purchase is subject to audit (and presumably the lenovo epp too, although that's unclear), which means that either your order or warranty might be canceled later, should the employee not ultimately confirm the authenticity of your order.

Um, are you talking about me?

As I stated before, my EPP is LEGIT as in I asked the person who works at IBM and he GAVE me his information.

And I can't create a quote NOT because of my LEGIT EPP, but because their system is down. Why don't you call customer service and ask them to create a quote in the EPP website for you and see what they say? My sales rep tried his own number, and it still didn't work.

    They don't track EPP.

Lenovo purchasing is all screwed up. They barely have a system that is capable of getting orders fulfilled and shipped in a timely fashion. They aren't even able to cancel an order in a timely fashion. I had to call several times to get my order first order canceled. It still might ship. I seriously doubt that they are capable of tracking EPP usage. The only reason that some people got their Meyer (oops bad word) orders canceled is because someone brought it to their attention. Even then if you noticed most of the people that got their orders canceled were the ones that called to enquire about their order. Most of the people that just waited it out got their order. It seemed like "the system" was just to alert the sales reps to be on the lookout for Meyer (oops bad word) orders. It was obvious that they couldn't just do a search for all Meyer orders and cancel them all.

I had a similar experience to iskeys. My billing and shipping information was mixed up with someone else. I thought I had it straightened out until I got an e-mail two days ago saying that I had another order number that I didn't place. It was being billed to my card and shipped to someone I don't even know. I was on the phone for hours waiting and trying to get it straightened out. (Got a free mini-dock out of it :) for compensation) They said it happens every once in awhile.

I mean seriously they can't even take orders, cancel orders, ship order without frequently messing something up. Auditing EPP... that's a joke. Maybe when it was IBM but not Lenovo.

Yes they do. Tell that to anyone who had their order cancelled a month after ordering, or found their warranty was void when they needed service 2 years later.

I'm an ibm employee and i can assure you that the IBM epp is still tracked and audited, though not 100% so.

However I dunno what lenovo is doing about tracking the lenovo epp. I agree they seem to have some organizational and administrative challenges.

I am sure they will track all EPP orders as my best friend work there and i saw how they tracked his brother's order , I never used his ID even when he offered me (Friends and family with employee permission can use it up to 20/year ). but with SPP and other discounts we get almost the same price .

Is it legitimate to use the SPP code 536686 if you are not an ibm shareholder? will that cause trouble later on?

I've heard they dont track/check SPP. Bundle that with tailormade & fatwallet, and you're doing great!

You may do better at you campus bookstore, if you're a legit college student. Tho the selection is very limited. College offers historically have been the best values of all, by far.

Yeah indeed I tried that several times today, but the problem is I couldn't check out! I hope that's not precisely because of using the SPP

How is it done through bookstore? Is that they have special codes as well?

There's a thread around somewhere that explains the process for stacking those discounts... look around.

I dont know how students buy through their bookstore, I guess they do it directly. I only know that every August some students come on here and brag about their great deals that the rest of us envy.

Although tailormade (I think) cannot be used anymore because the extra 5-10 & discount is applied after the lenovo product ships. Ordering today will mean that the thinkpad will most like be shipped after 7/31 (which is the expiration date for the tailormade discount).

Now the question is can one use a visa/MC card and get the same benefit or is that only a replacement for SPP/Student.

    Confused?

The bad part is Lenovo is closed and will open again on Monday @ 9 EST, however by then the extra 10% coupon will expire.

yeah, but I was going to call Lenovo and personally ask them about the Tailormade discount. If I wait till Monday the other 10% coupon will expire.

    See I want to use student (5%) + 10% coupon (expires 7/22) + tailormade (5%) + fatwallet (3.5%) = total of 23.5% worth of saving.

If you save the quote that contains the coupon, won't that quote/price still be valid on monday?

I mean... As long as you create the quote while the coupon is valid, you can execute the quote afterwards (when the coupon date has passed), right?

You tried on the EPP website?

I tried on 3 computers with Firefox and IE, and even tried to get a rep to do it but nothing worked.

If you can create a quote from the EPP site, I'd really appreciate it if you could create a quote for me. The rep didn't even email me any updates like he said he would, and I didn't know Lenovo would be closed tomorrow.

BTW SkiBunny, in other forum threads you claim to be a IBM or Lenovo Employee. So, do me a big favor and PM me your EPP login infomation.

I think 21 days from shipping date. You go through checkout and click "convert to quote" on the bottom.

But right now, you need to create a new account to checkout/create quote.

I tried the SPP page many times using different computers (PC, Mac) miles away, none of them worked, so I don't think it's the computer problem. Only when I tried the regular Lenovo site w/o SPP did I get through checkout, but of course this way I don't get that part of discount

I just did it, and it worked with a new account/email. I just hope having a new customer number won't affect their ability to price match. Do you think you could create a quote for me under a "guest account" - just in case they try to give me excuses? If you can, I'll PM you with the configuration. Thanks

damn, exact same laptop I bought 3 weeks ago is now $200 less (using EPP+ coupon). Does customer service work tomorrow (Saturday) I need to get my $$$ back.
I guess the number 07/07/07 does indeed indicate lucky after all. Mine was shipped out on that date. :D

    ------------
*edit: They close on weekend, so I have to wait until Monday and try my luck, got myself a quote of the exact same computer for $200 less but will see what's gonna happen on Monday. Good luck guys.

Choose "Add multiple part numbers directly to your cart". In the pop-up window, type your desired P/N in section "Product code" and you will find "Web price", "Your price" and "Availability" on the right. Sometime you need to press "Get price and availability" to refresh your quotation.

The university discount price is limited to certain Lenovo contracted universities and colleges and the supply may be restricted by models and volume. I'm not sure if you can order models not listed on the website in this way.

    lol.

of course the chinese don't care about the U.S. Military.

the only way you could get a military discount is if the military bought 1,000 laptops and you accidentally got one.

    hah.

I just tried both the following coupons with respective discounts.

    USPJULYT72 - $161.88
    USXIBMSPPTRIPLE - $80.94

Does anyone know if there is a way to use both the coupons at the same time during the checkout?

You can only use one coupon each time during checkout for Student/EPP/SPP. Applying "USPJULYT72" on T60/T61 before July 22 will save up to 10%. Using "USXIBMSPPTRIPLE" before the end of July will provide up to 10% discount for X series during SPP checkout.

You can use up to two coupons in Lenovo/University site. However, none of these two coupons works on such site.

I used both the coupons for T61p under "students & alumni" and those are the discounts I got. Guess I can't use both at the same time. Thanks for your inputs.
