I think it is better to keep all win7 related support on one thread since the OS is not officially out.

On my T500, everything is nice. Boot time of 35second~, and everything seems to be snappy.

    Problems that I have observed...

    -Switchable graphic does not work.
-the power manager gauge only display percent remaining.
-I only got the ATI 3650 to install by going into BIOS, set it to dedicated, and reinstall the driver without Catalyst Control center. Otherwise, it defaults to the intel chip.
-Lenovo provided audio driver does not work, but the one provided by Win7 works
-I can not get the fn hotkeys to work, although some reported that it works
    -battery life is lacking
-the magnifier (fn+spacebar) does not demagnify
-Chrome seems to eat a lot of resources(with flash game open, not sure about no flash game)

Please chime in on fixes and other problems.

On my W500, power manager shows time remaining. It's an option when you right click the battery icon to show either remaining % or time.

After just a few hours with it, the few issues I have run into...
    • Still no switchable graphics (same as beta)
    • No hotkey drivers, no osd for volume, brightness

I right clicked the gauge and click on the time remaining, but it doesnt change.

Hotkey doesnt work for me, but the OSD does, brightness, volume. Are you on integrated o dedicated graphic??

It was on integrated. I'll try to play around with it later and see if I can get them working.

Windows 7 b7057 is working well on my X60s, boots very fast with SSD and responds immediately to every action. Yesterday I got power management working well, so I can now get down to 7w. OSD and Power Manager works fine. My only grief is sometimes I get graphics corruption e.g. in Excel/Word and sometimes IE. Even with the latest just released 945 driver from Intel, I get graphics corruption.

Love Windows 7 on my W500, especially quick with my SSD drive in there.

OSD and Power Manager both work fine for me. Fn-F5 works fine. The only thing not working is switchable graphics, but I keep it in Integrated mode anywhere so no big deal.

I try to run the minimum Lenovo software anyway. I think I have the Power Manager driver, Power manager software, System interface driver and Hotkey manager, Thinkvantage GPS, Thinkpad Mobility customization installed. All working fine.

I'm on Windows 7 RC, upgraded though each beta rev starting with the first one. Actually from 7058 to RC I switched from my T61p to the W500 just by pullling the drive from my T61p and plugging it into my W500 :)

I'll chime in with my 7100 experience.

I had mostly everything working, except for:
    - Switchable graphics
    - Fn+F5
    - Awful battery life
    - Occasional video card issues (freezes with certain drivers)

I got the OSD and other hotkeys working, but could not get Fn+F5 to work. I've since deleted Win 7 (had it on its own partition), but may consider reinstalling and working with it some more (as I'm running Vista Home Premium 32 bit on a system with 4 GB RAM, 7's performance is significantly better).

So you have osd working on your W500? Any tricks to get it working? It seems to install fine for me, but when I restart, the system locks up before Windows fully loads. Maybe since you upgraded instead of a new install

everything seems ok here. X61s, Win 7 x64 Ultimate RC. Only have tpfancontrol, power manager 2.42 (2.43 never worked in Vista or 7 for me), TP HDD. Some of the OSD work, the only one I've found not working is the brightness.
hotkeys, wireless and power manager work. F8 for ultranav doesn't work.

Certain video drivers? The ones built into 7100/downloadable via Windows Update have, largely, performed fine for me—no freezing. Build 7100 is so far beyond Vista in terms of UI usability and productivity, as well as perceived improved performance, there’s no way I’m going back to that 1.0 product (Vista).

Okay, if your system is locking up when Windows is loading it's a driver version issue. I've been through that scenario literally 100 times :)

I boot with integrated graphics and make sure I'm using driver version dated 10/2/2008. If I try to use the new one, WDDM 1.1 or whatever it is, then I get the lock up on boot as well. I also boot into discrete mode and do the same thing, although I'm not sure off-hand if I'm still using the 10/2/2008 driver for the ATI or the new one. I've tried many different driver variations and that's what works for me.

    X41 Tablet and Win 7 7106:
    - Power Mngr fine
    - Video ok, but I had to download and install more recent 915g drivers for Windows XP (yes, XP) to have 3D acceleration as well (yes, even with this crappy card I want it. IE for playing neverball with the accelerometer ;) )
    - Fingerprint reader halfway ok. I had to install the upek Win 7 preview suite, THEN the upek Win 7 drivers only package, and then an updated .exe for the from Upek. Since a few days a more recent driver is available via windows update. Works fine, but after waking up from standby the reader stops working every now and then.
    - I use a Kingspec 64GB SSD which fits directly into the hdd slot. Even though this thing has a crappy JMicron controller, there is NO freezing at all and Performance is very very fine with this machine. I had freezings and performance issues now and then with XP tablet 05, no such thing with Win 7.

    ==> Cheap SSD + Win 7 = win

While I don’t own a W500, my ATI driver is from March 10, 2009 and my Intel driver is from April 14, 2009. If you installed Lenovo’s drivers, you might want to consider removing them and using ones built into 7100/downloadable via Windows Update. These WDDM 1.1 drivers remove known bottlenecks in the Windows graphics subsystem and improve video performance.

I've got Win7 RC (build 7100) installed on my 4GB X200s. When waking up from sleep and trying to do a remote desktop connection to another pc, I get a BSOD. I'm sending a report to MS.
