Seven hours on the nine cell is probably pushing it. It is a great machine if you can live without having the latest and greatest.

It's not that great of a deal at all. You can have a nicely loaded T60 for $1,400 and change with free shipping and no sales tax. Not to mention the DDR ram is more expensive than DDR2 for upgrades. The deal kind of sucks. Oh yeah, I got my 9 cell genuine IBM battery brand new for $70. That's a better deal than what you have posted.

Not sure where the original poster got that price, but on lenovo.com the sale they have going now has a T42 for $999. If you have only $1K to spend and you want a quality Thinkpad, it wouldn't be such a bad deal.

Personaly, I'd try to s****e together a little more $ and get this T60. It's not on sale, but it's a nice config at a nice price. Sure...the screen could be better and I'd need to add RAM, but for $1500 it doesn't break the budget and you get a lot of system.
