That looks friggin beautiful. Much better looking then my friends Thindpad (R60 maybe?). I hope Lenovo Canada doesn't give me a hard time.

The Fire Snake Notebook Virtuoso
Joe,
Very nice pictures. Could you put up a few more pics showing the amount of desktop space you get with that high res screen? Also a picture showing us how the text looks like on a web browser and text editor(default size)? That would help a lot of us out if we are deciding which res to choose. Thanks. -
Also, have you tried the fingerprint reader technology yet? If so, how does it work? -
-
Okay I can't get any pictures because my camera broke but to give yall an idea. the text on these forums is about as tall as a dull pencil lead so about 2mm tall and an "a" is a little under 2mm wide to give you a rough estimate. It is small but I don't have much of a problem seeing it. Personaly I wouldn't go any higher in resolution the things would just get tiny.
Desktop space is better than I expected I can have 2 windows open semi-comfortably although it could be better. Overall I would say that 1440x800 or 1680x1050 are my perfered screen res on a 15.4" laptop.
Oh and an update my 3Dmarks score is now 4230 -
Wait, how'd you get the recovery discs? Was this a special option I was supposed to choose when customizing my T61p?
-
How dare you have an Apple near your ThinkPad!
-
-
Kinda good news I am getting a new T61p so I will be able to open this one up and take alot of pics. If I get the LG screen I will also be able to post comparisons of the screens.
-
Ordered mine last night similar to yours but 160gb 7200rpm and T8100. Not sure if it shipped but based on your review I am glad I got the Think pad over a dell or cheap acer. The build quality makes it worth the extra money but the best part is with the awesome deals right now I got $900 off so it's a great time to get a think pad.
-
That was my deliberation exactly the dell XPS M1530 or the Lenovo just based on durability I chose the Lenovo and I am happy that I am

I got my R61 with T9300/1GB(Added OCZ 2GB)/250GB HDD/4965ABGN/WXGA+/Vista Ultimate/3yrs warranty + Accident Damage Protection yesterday. Amazing machine. Screen is awesome. I haven't checked if it has samsung or LG. Adding Memory was pain.
1) too many screws to remove(maybe I had wrong screw driver).
2) Palm rest was not coming off easily.
Changing memory on my Dell 600m was significantly easier.
i also got recovery disk. I dont think 64-bit version would be there. This means that I dont have to back up anything b4 I install 64-bit Vista Ultimate. -
-
Please solve the recovery disks mystery. What to do to get them shipped like you had?
-
I don't know why or how I got one nobody else has maybe it was just a fluke?
-
I am waiting on my Lenovo to come. I got the T9300 processor, 2gb ram, and XP pro, but I didn't get any warranty. Was that a bad idea?
-
Well you get the standard 1yr warranty so your covered if yo uhave some sort of hardware failure. You can also extend your warranty when the 1yr gets close to running out so it really doesn't matter.
-
I just ordered my T61p today but I sent it to my pernament address so there will be over 7000 kms seperating us when it finally arrives. After reading this thread, it kind of makes it hard to concentrate and do my prep work.
-
nice laptop. thanks
for the picture.
-
I'm a little confused why you got a 4 year Onsite warranty with 4 year Thinkpad protection. Doesn't that cost like $700 on the Canadian site? (Or maybe it was more like ~550 with the EPP.) That's like over 25% what everything else cost.
-
Well I expect to keep the laptop for over 4yrs abd I don't trust sending my laptop into Lenovo too much risk of damage during shipping some one not handeling my baby carefully I maxed everything eles out why not keep it safe.
-
Congrats, man!
Thinkpads are awesome machines. -
little late there buddy...
-
LOL Thanks Rodger!
I'd say your timing is just fine.
The deed is done!
