I've got this old X30 that is still useful, but the hard drive is in the middle of its death throws. I would like very much to replace the drive with one that is 7200 rpm if a new one can be found.
I'm curious if anyone knows of a reputable vendor that still sells new ones for a less than obscene price.

newegg.com and tigerdirect.com

I don't know if a vendor, but they're not being produced as much which is why they're getting so expensive. You might want to look used on eBay.

Neither newegg or tigerdirect has them in stock. I have a 100gig hitachi that's been sitting on the shelf for a year. A search of the model number turns up the following:

Thanks for all the help. All the ones I've seen new are over $100. Even new ones on ebay go for around $100, used 60gig about $60.
Guess I can live with a $55 new 5400.
