I installed it yesterday, it's much better than the standard Ultranav driver. Really nice, now I can "swivel scroll" meaning I can start scrolling normally and continue scrolling by moving my finger in a circle on the touchpad. And no more annoying Trackpoint message popping up when I press it three times.

Also you have to uninstall the ultranav driver first. I think the trackpad still works without the ultranav driver but you might want to have a backup mouse handy if you want to install it.

What are these messages that you are referring to? I have the Trackpoint installed and active and I don't get any message! Please do explain. Also, what machine are you using?

Thinkpad T61p. When I pressed the center button three times in semi-rapid succession, it would pop up with a message saying "Do you want to learn about the center button?" Really annoying, especially since I checked "Do not show me this again" and it still popped up. Now this new driver doesn't do that, much better.

By "center button" you mean the one between the buttons that function as the left and rick click buttons? In other words, the one which is used with the Trackpoint for scrolling purposes. Am I correct? And if yes, how come you get to click that middle button three (or more) times?

    Thanks

I rarely use the Touchpad (I prefer the Trackpoint), but want to get rid of that annoying pop-up and it would be nice to have the multitouch on my T500.

Do you lose any Trackpoint functionality or configuration options by installing this? I have heard that the UltraNav options tab disappears...

    Thanks!

I would scroll down. Then scroll up for less than a second. Then I would press the button again accidentally. the pop up came up quite often that it was really annoying, and checking the checkbox that said "don't show this again" would only prevent the message from coming up before I sent my computer to sleep or rebooted. Seriously, try it out yourself. Press the center button 1 time, then another at about 1 sec later, then another 1 sec later. It did the same thing in Vista and 7 so it had to be a driver problem.

You lose the Ultranav options tab yes. You can reenable the same Ultranav options though in a different piece of the software. I'm not sure if you get all the same options as the Ultranav tab though, but I don't miss anything. I don't have multitouch though, but I don't mind it too much. It's a smallish touchpad anyway.
