Hello, got my new T510 two days ago. Still have the sentiment that this T510 is not what I believe a Thinkpad is.

Now comes this shock and dont know whether it is good or bad.

I am trying to add another 4GB memory to it (it came with 4GB). As with other thinkpads I have, I take out a few screws the in bottom close to the palm area. Then I discovered this is not going to work.

Googled the internet but nothing turned up useful for me.

I notice that in the center bottom is an area that I can open. When I did that, I notice it is might be a place for extra memory because the only slot there is a right fit for the memory card.

Is this the right place for putting extra memory?

Besides, what about the original memory card? Where is it located now?

Anybody has the T510 memory upgrade information? Links?

    Thanks a lot!

You probably want to have a look at the T510 Hardware Maintenance Manual, this guide will tell you all you need to know on how to maintain and upgrade your T510 specifically.
