I've never been a fan of themes but I'm kinda getting sick of using Windows Classic or Basic Windows Themes, just for the sake of performance.
I think the technical level of my computer usage has gone down a lot since I switched careers. All I do now is read web pages and make Word docs.
Therefore, does anyone know where I can download some cool themes?

There is a software program called WindowBlinds. It is basically used to switch between themes you have, and the ones that come with the program. You can also download tons of themes online and use them via this program. On their site, they have a 90 days free trial without given them any of your info, so its a good way to check it out.

What about icons? I have Window Blinds but it doesn't change the icons on the desktop.

For icons there is a program called IconPackager. You can get it form this site: http://www.wincustomize.com/

Try to install StyleXP or get the UXTheme.dll patch available online. You also can use WindowBlinds to apply custom styles.
