I have the t410s, other thinkpads might have it to. I had my notebook facing away from me when I turned off the lights. I noticed light coming through the back of the lid kind of like the macbook pros. On closer inspection I noticed it was coming from where the thinkpad stamp is. On the lid I see the light forms a circle, this must be an artifact of manufacturing, is this normal?

Got a pic of it?
To me it sounds like nothing is wrong and its just light from the LCD backlight coming through tiny gaps in the lid case where the IBM logo is. -
When I first read this it reminded me of the Edge machines and their red dot light.

I want to confirm the same thing happens on my ThinkPad T410s.
There is a round light coming from the "a" on the ThinkPad logo.
I guess this is normal then... -
These business-class machines are sometimes stowed in the unpressurized baggage areas of executive aircraft. Without a hole for the air to escape when these planes climb straight up to 40K+ feet the machines could burst. That's what I think it's for.

Eh, the machines aren't stowed outside of the plane.

Theres a hole on my lid is this normal?
