Hi there,

anythought s on how ot fix this or why is it like that?

I wouldn't disable Productivity Center and Active protection system.
-
i read some posts saying what u just said but i cann;t seem to find those on msconfig or under the services again.
i will check again and confirm. -
If you re-enable LPManager (LPMGR.exe), it will work again.
-
LPMGR. is already been enabled on the "start ups" and i just enabled "logical disk manager..." from teh services. and it is not working
do u think i might need to restart the computer? -
... yes. A startup app is run when the computer is... started up. If you haven't restarted since you enabled LPManager, you need to do so.
I have tested killing the LPMGR.exe process on my T60 and it does indeed stop the ThinkVantage button from working. When I restart that process, it works again, so I am 99% sure that is the solution.

Matt,
ya it did work thanks alot man.
but now it also started showing me that stupid message center icon on the task bar, so is there a way to disable the message center alone from being started at start up?
thanks -
Disabling LPMailChecker (LPMLCHK.exe) might do the trick. Let me know if it doesn't.

I have this problem too, i was using autruns and disabled som services/start up apps from lenovo.

Matt,
ya i just unchecked lpmmchk so hopefuly ot won't start when it comes on.
it seems like u know most of those services and start up programs, does ur computer boot pretty fast or still think there some improvment is needed? iam curiouse to see what programs u have checked on start up, i appreciate it if u could post a screen dump of it .
thanks, -
Well, I did the whole disable-as-many-startup-apps-as-possible routine a while back too, so I know what most of the Lenovo startup processes do. Unfortunately, I have a lot of startup apps that I added myself (Google Desktop, Rainlendar, RocketDock, etc), so my computer is far from a speed demon at boot times.
Here's a screenshot of what I've got disabled, nonetheless. I recommend using CCleaner to make these edits too, by the way. -
thanks for the shot man, i think ur;s a lil diff than mine i have xp.
thanks and have agoodnight. -
ThinkAdvantage has disappeared from my computer!
