I'm considering purchasing the ThinkPad Advanced Dock for my soon-to-arrive (hopefully :)) T61p. I had three questions regarding the Advanced dock...

    1) Is it hot-swappable or does the computer need to be shut down each time it's put on or removed from the dock?
    2) How many inches does the dock elevate the back end of the computer?
    3) I purchased the extended battery which protrudes out of the back of the computer slightly... can the computer still be docked with this battery inserted or would it bump the left corner of the dock?

The notebook does not need to be shut down.

Maybe 3/4 of an inch though I didn't have my tape measure.

It works fine with the larger battery.
