I did a review of the ThinkPad Edge 14 on my blog. I'm not the best writer, but I figured this was the best place to post a laptop review. Here's the link. Thanks

Great review and thank you for taking the time to make it. I agree with your statement about the keyboard. These Chiclet keyboards are quite nice. Shame about the battery life though.

Do they sell a thinkpad edge with a matte display and matte lid?

Very nice, and coherently written. Well done! You probably should add some bullets with your system specs though.

How are operating temperatures? Lap-friendly? Noise levels?

They do sell one with a matte display-but not a lid, mine was preconfigured from Office Depot. I got a great deal on it too. It was $599, and I got it on tax free weekend. It has an i3 350m, 4GB of RAM, and a 320GB 5400 RPM hard drive. I'm using it on my lap right now with no problem, although I am reclining, and the Thinkpad logo is a little bumpy so it rubs against my wrist while typing. Not a big deal, but if I were to type with it on my lap like this for a few hours, it would definitely be pretty red... It isn't too loud. Under load, I can definitely hear the fan whirring around in there, but most of the time it isn't a big deal. To put it into perspective, the sound of the clickity-clackity keyboard easily drowns out the fan even if you're typing at 30WPM. The palm rest doesn't really get hot. I mostly use it for basic stuff, browsing the internet, using Word, simple stuff in general. I'm definitely not stressing it too much, although when streaming Netflix or Hulu, it can get a bit hot. But the heat isn't as annoying as the fan (which in and of itself isn't really annoying). Right now, for example, it's cool everywhere except to the left and right of the touchpad, which I'd guess are both around 90 degrees Fahrenheit/roughly 32 Celsius (or 305 Kelvin if you want to get scientific). Thanks for everything guys and keep the questions coming.
