I'm wondering if anyone out there has a L440 that they regularly use with a docking station.

My main concern is that one side of the vents are blocked by the docking station.

I have this problem with my T410. While docked it runs 15 to 20 degrees hotter. I manually run the fan at a higher speed to keep it cool and I have to disable Intel Turbo mode to keep the noise and temperature down when under load. With Turbo enabled, it will get up to the 90's and start throttling.

When un-docked, it runs cool and I can keep Intel Turbo model enabled and it still never gets that hot. My T410 has NVidia graphics.

I'm thinking of going with a L440 with an Intel i7-4712MQ, but I'm concerned that I will have the same problems while docked as I have with my T410. The vents on the L450/T450 have moved away from the corner so they are no longer blocked, but I don't want a 15W TDP CPU/GPU.

    Thanks

Sorry that I'm a month late to this. My L440 has no issues in an UltraDock, and I run it pretty heavily at work.
