Just curious which power profile you guys use.
-
I pretty much use Power Source Optimized, but I edited it a little, so I guess that counts as Custom.
-
None of the default profiles have the AC management set to adaptive CPU; they're either set to highest or lowest. Also, on battery mode, it seems like the fan runs at the same speed as on AC.
-
I couldn't deal with out adaptive CPU setting. The fan was on too much.

When I want battery life, I use Power Source Optimized. I use the ThinkPad Default a lot too.

The default setting from the factory is Energy Star profile.

-
Heres the energy star profile that comes default (I had to run downstairs to get my notebook since I was on my desktop)
Battery A/C
Performance 3/7 ------- 6/7
System Temp 3/7 -------- 3/7
Fan Sound 2/7 -------- 5/7
Power Usage 6/7 -------- 6/7 -
I have it set to Power Source Optimized. When you're plugged in, you automatically have access to 100% of the maximum CPU frequency. On battery, the notebook is still usable unlike the maximum battery life setting.
-
Minimum cpu, maximum fan.
-
The energy Star profile looks terrible compared to custom or power source optimized.
-
i use maximum performance all the time, plugged in and on battery
-
I made a modified "power source optimized" by making it better for batteries, but adaptive (CPU) when plugged in.
-
for me, its adaptive for both battery and plugged in
ThinkPad PowerManager users, which profile do you use?
