Morning Folks, quick question for you guys & girls - the optical drive bay for an R500 ThinkPad (MPN: 2716-W7F), does that accept 9.5mm or 12.7mm 2nd HDD caddies?

Just need to confirm for a mate of mine, as the results I'm seeing out there are for both sizes so I'm needing a wee bit of help to get that necessary confirmation as I don't want to advise him to buy one to small (with a gap left over in the ODB) or to big.

    Thanks in advance! :D

The R500 have a thicker base compared to the T500 so it should use the Ultrabay Enhanced drives which is 12.7mm thick.

Thanks Hearst, greatly appreciated - I'll pass that onto my mate so he can get cracking with it. :D
