I'm cross-shopping these two models and I was wondering what people think as far as the T500 being worth the extra money.
This will be a desktop replacement so size/weight isn't a big issue for me and I don't play games, so discrete graphics isn't necessary. I would be using the machine for internet and watching DVD's mostly.
I would opt for the 1600 x 1080 screen on either model. My priorities are low temperature, durability, comfort.
Any other compelling features that would make the T500 the better choice and worth a little extra coin?
Thanks.![]()

i would take the T500 over the R500 (if the cost difference is within 15 %) due to the fact that the R500 doesn't have a screen magnesium rollcage like that of the T500.

In addition to the thread that ZaZ posted, you might want to look at this comparison.
You might also consider a 1440x900 R400 or T400. I find its 120 ppi screen more readable than the 130 ppi 1680x1050 screen of the R/T500. But your eyes may be better than mine, and perhaps you really need the extra desktop area. -
