I hope I am posting in the proper place
I just began using my friend's battery, as mine died. however, ever since i started using it the green batter meter gauge thingie in my task bar vanished. can anyone help me put it back on? now it's weird, because i cannot check how much time i have left with just a quick glance. does it have sth to do with the fact that it is a sony manifactured battery? i mean it is not the original battery for my friend's laptop either

The task bar battery is activated from the Thinkvantage Power Manager. The bottom left has an "options" button.
