What is the usual lead time it takes after order for your thinkpad to leave lenovo warehouse? Mine shipped a bit fast and that have me worried.

Anybody to comment? I got the 14" WXGA+ R61 W/O webcam. Plan to get an add-on cam. Mostly standard stuff except Penryn 2.4/3MB which I think is new in their lineup. Picked the 14" mainly for the roll cage and better cover material.

Also is WXGA+ suitable on a 14" ? Should I have gotten the WXGA instead?

WXGA+ depends on your age. I'm over 40 and the 1400 x 1050 on my T61 is a bit small for me and it hurts my eyes. I got to lower it all the way to 1024x768 which is essentially a WXGA. So why 'waste' the money because native resolution would look good.

What's to worry about it shipping quickly? The quicker it ships, the quicker it gets to you... and the quicker you get to enjoy your new laptop :p Mine shipped three days after I ordered it.

The thing that you probably should have done was to look at a WXGA+ screen beforehand. If you couldn't find one, you could've played around on a WXGA screen and figured out whether or not you would've needed the finer resolution.

As ideasmith said, it depends on your eyes. My eyes work perfectly with the WXGA+; in fact, I'm left wishing for a little more room to work with sometimes.

Yeah, I don't get the "worry" dimension of this. But FWIW, I ordered a 14.1" R61 and it was delivered before the originally-speculated ship date. About 7-10 days from ordering online to shipping, IIRC. Then about 4 days to get to me, from Shenzhen China to the Chicago suburbs. Quicker is better as far as I'm concerned.

PS: I got the WXGA screen... my eyes are 56 yrs old and I didn't relish the smaller fonts and icons. Now that I got it I like it.

I got 1440 non-wide resolution on my old laptop. It has a 15" screen. Its just right for me, but when I go to a lower res, it gets blurry. I'm not sure about the 14" @ this resolutionl. Are you able to adjust WXGA+ to lower res without getting some blurry graphics?

And for those with WXGA+ Did you have your fonts adjusted bigger for WXGA+ ??

Laptop screens look best at their native resolution, so it's best to leave them that way. Text does start to get a bit blurry when lowered. It's definitely noticeable (at least for me).

Not too sure what you're asking in the second question.
