I am aligining towards SL300 for my regular office and home usage. I dont play games.

I assume it a GM45 chipset and I will be configuring it with P8400 processor which 1066 MHz. Now Lenovo have only DD2 667 MHz memory, can I upgrade it to DD2 800 MHz memory?

T400 have DDR3 memory and its also same chipset, so is it possible to upgrade SL300 to DDR3?

If it is the Centrino 2 platform, I guess you can because the Centrino 2 platform is suppose to support DDR3 RAM but some Centrino 2 platform laptop comes with DDR2 because DDR3 were more expensive and have a higher latency (I don't know how the latency affects the performance though).

I am not sure but I read somewhere that there can be either DDR2 or DDR3 slots on motherboard.

I beleive I can definitely replace DDR2 667 with DDR2 800 MHz, but I am no expert, any expert can confirm this ?
