Does anyone know if the ThinkPad Serial ATA Hard Drive Bay Adapter can have any 2.5 inch SATA drive placed in it? or does it have to have the specific Thinkpad HDD? I know this has been asked before but no one seems to be sure.

    Thanks,
    Jeremy

Beautiful, Do you guys know if it just shows up like a removable disk like a thumb drive would? Or what? How does the system recognize it when it is plugged in? It is still hot swappable right?

    Thanks Guys

It'll show up like a regular hard drive. Yes, it is hot swappable.

The T61p has an ultrabay slim drive as well, will a regular harddrive not fit jcvjcvjcvjcv? How thick are normal 2.5" drives?

I wanted to put this one in that adapter, it is the only 200 GB 2.5" drive I could find, jcv, are you saying that is won't fit?

    Check out this page too:

The connection is SATA for the item I posted but the other ones on that page have pins only, which one is right?
