Afternoon All, got a quick one for you - I've ended up with the base unit of a Dell Latitude E4300 Laptop, from a clear-out that a mate of mine was doing.
After breaking it down into spares, I've found it still has a Intel C2D SP9400 (SLGAA) CPU still in it - I appreciate it's FSB speed is compatible for the motherboards in the ThinkPad T400 & T500 laptop models but has anybody actually used them at all?
If so how do you find them in terms of performance but also any power saving benefits as well (if any marginable difference is identified).
Thanks in advance and appreciate any feedback fellow members can provide.![]()

P9400 should be usable in the ThinkPad T400 and T500, you won't get any performance increases compared to the T9400. But you will get less heat output and slightly better battery life.

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
I'm pretty sure that that SP9400 is soldered to the motherboard of that E4300? Is it not?

Ah b*gger!!! Your right Commander Wolf, it's soldered onto the motherboard...christ I need to get a new pair of glasses, I'm going blind!
