Hello - does anyone with a T420 know if it could boot / power on without the RAM cover?

Colleague got a T420 - was sold as working - just didn't come with RAM cover. It's not booting up atm - I'm wondering if we've got a broken laptop, or if it's just missing the ram cover.

Is it suppose to work without RAM cover? Would be grateful if someone who used T420 could advise.

    Thanks!

I would think it should work unless it's touching something, but the feet should keep it off the ground.

Yeah definitely don't require the ram cover, i've ran without mine before for testing temp differences (there was virtually none just fyi)

When you say its not booting, what exactly is it doing? Just "nothing" 100% dead? Does the screen have the back light come on, does the fan come on, does it do anything? Are you use the battery has power and/or the charger is working?
