I'm pretty set on getting the T480s. one issue that I am still not sure about is the trackpad. one reviewer describe it as moving your finger on sand paper and he had some negative opinion about it (also that sometime it moved by itself etc)

I am going to use the trackpad a lot so was wondering if current owners of the T480s can comment on their experience with the trackpad? thanks in advance!

I have a T480s. I primarily used the trackpoint. With that said, when I have used the trackpad, it was a very smooth action.

T480s trackpad is definitely a step down from the X1 Carbon. It's not a huge step down though. Similar downgrade to that of the exterior feel being a bit less premium.

Buying a ThinkPad and using the touch pad is like getting a Corvette with an automatic. I'm just saying. :D

The TrackPoint is my primary method for cursor movement when using my Thinkpad. When I have used the touchpad, my fingers move easily across it, and the cursor moves easily.
