This problem had occurred before I changed my hard drive yesterday (to a new one. I have an older post on this some time ago.) See title.

I am able to shut down & restart normally through the Start menu & the Fn function with the old hard drive. But I can't seem to place the machine to standby or hibernate. Problem still persists after I change my hard drive (original is a Lenovo prebuilt HDD (Hitachi 80GB 5400rpm), while the new one is a Hitachi 160GB 5400rpm.)

The machine is a ThinkPad T60 with Windows XP Pro (in both hard drives, but the older one have XP SP2).

Is there any way to resolve this problem?

Just to note, the BIOS is the latest version for my machine (v2.23).
