Well after weeks of watching and seeing what was going to happen. I pulled out the credit card and ordered it. With all the discounts it came out to just over 1100. Not bad for the specs. This will be my second thinkpad my first one was A31 many years ago. The solid construction and roll cage sold me over the many other options i had. I cant wait.

Great choice. That's pretty much what I have except for the battery.

You know you'll probably only squeeze a couple hours of battery life out of the 4-cell, right? Especially with the dedicated video card.

I am guessing no more than 2hrs, especially with that CPU.

Pretty much just like mine also. My only disappointment right now is the hard drive. It is very quiet, but also very small. You start out with only about 68 of the 80 GB because of the recovery partition, and their base install was well over 15GB, so I think I might have had 40GB free before I installed anything myself. I was planning to get a large, fast drive a little ways down the road, but I might have to move up the schedule a bit now.

I thought about a refurb but na, So the battery life is that with those specs? Should i get the 9cell. The hard drive i dont plan on keeping so i wasent to worried about it. As for the new CPU's i can get a really decent notebook now for just over a grand or i could wait till september a pay 6 or 7 hundred more.

There is currently a coupon with the students and alumni deal. It knocks off 8%. If you buy from the site there is also a 10% discount on normal purchases.

It looks good but I would defiantly go for the 9-cell and a bigger hd, you can get them off of new egg for fairly cheap

Surprisingly, they aren't going to be that much more expensive at all.

Illini71, I don't think we are allowed to give out the coupon codes here but you can in other threads. I think it's a rule

It's not a rule, you can help other posters by providing them with coupon codes when requested.

So be friendly and don't worry. :)

Just don't give out CPP or EPP codes.
