Andrew, can you comment on the screen quality of the Dell D620 vs. the T61? Thanks

I already have a copy of Ultimate that I bought and haven't installed yet. So, when I was ordering the laptop, I selected Vista Basic (the cheapest option). I always format and reinstall when I get a new machine to get rid of all the crud that OEMs install that I don't want!!
They don't have NIC drivers on their website, so I'm assuming that they're inbox with Vista. I'd like to know for sure though.

Sorry, I do not have a D630 on hand and won't have for 2 - 3 weeks. Dell is sending a Latitude D531 next week though.

If it isn't on Lenovo's site, then there's a very high chance that Vista will have the correct drivers for it, at least it has been this way in my experience.

White lights. The screen is probably about the same as the T60 -- maybe a bit dimmer. No smudging issues so far. No dummy is included, you could just get a hard drive sled and put it in there without an HD.

Dimmer? Ouch. The T60 isn't exactly making my squint as it is. I looked through Lenovo's accessories list, I didn't see an empty hard drive sled although I took the optical drive out of the display model at Best Buy (T60) and it's super light anyway.

    Andrew

I was wondering if you could give me a rough guess of your elevation when you did the tests. I live in a high altitude city, and things run pretty warm here.

I see that somebody else posted another link to it, but try opening it in IE or in an IE tab if you're using Firefox. For some reason it doesn't like native Firefox.

If that doesn't work I'll try to excerpt some relevant pieces.

I can't get either browser to connect. Could you just upload it to you like http://www.rapidshare.com/ ?

Thanks Andrew, but it looks like it's corrupt. I am getting 'archive empty' error when I download it. Can someone please post it again?

I not familiar with rapidshare.com and haven't had a chance to look into it. This is a 124 page document (including specs for other T-series models) and takes a while to load into my browser so you might just need to be patient when trying to open it. In the meantime I'll start by putting a couple of excerpts here. The first is the integrated option and the second is discrete. Notice they don't even list the 4-cell battery for the discrete option. Enjoy.

You should also uncheck the "display PDF in browser" in Acrobat Reader.
