    Hi All -

I have a couple of questions about my new ThinkPad T61. Appreciate any info you can give me on it -

    1. When I got my T61, I got 2 plastic pouches - one with the trackpoint rubber thingies and another with 2 screws. What are those screws for?
    2. When I watch some movies and switch to full screen, the video becomes a little dull and kinda flickers. Anyone know why this is / how I can fix it?

    Thanks.

Are the movies real DVD's or 700mb avi files ripped from DVD?

Cam or 700mb files can be washed out. You might want to check your speedstep and monitor refresh rate, but most likely you're watching a movie that was recorded by a camera in a movie theater. Try a DVD as rxblitzrx suggests.

I don't have a thinkpad (in fact the last one I saw was a 486), but those screws could be for securing the expansion bay modules.

They weren't dvds. Just clips downloaded from the internet. Possibly wmv's or avi's

Actually, I just found that the clips played fine when I changed the Color Quality from 32 bit to 16 bit in my Display Properties (Desktop - right click - Properties - settings). Is this normal or is there something wrong with my display?

To re-iterate, this happens only when I'm on 32 bit color quality and switch to full screen mode on Windows Media Player

Seems this is a problem on widescreen Thinkpads??
MY T61 is standard screen and does not flicker on any video playback under XP. I didn't test it on Vista.

    Real weird problem.
