    ThinkPad T61P Users: A Question

    Well I recently purchased a ThinkPad T61P and through various NBR Community Members I have learned how to alter modded inf's for the Nvidia Forceware Drivers.

    I was curious if anyone has the desire for me to post the 169.04 modded INF that allows your Quadro to be recognized as a GeForce 8600M GT. Many people have reported this has improved performance and/or reduced issues when playing DirectX games. Obviously this modded INF is not recommended for those that utilize CAD and other demanding applications that the Quadro is suited for.

    I would even be willing to keep this modded inf updated for future driver sets released by Nvidia. (Since I am a driver freak and will have to make them for myself anyways)

    Please note that this modded inf is only intended for ThinkPad T61P users with a Quadro FX 570M. If you experience any stability issues just roll back to the stock modded inf, however I have tried this on two different ThinkPad T61P's and have not experienced any issues! :D

    Aren't there already modded inf's on laptopvideo2go.com? Or is yours somehow different? I'm using it with 169.04 atm.

    I realize that, I use their modded inf and alter it so when installing your drivers your graphics card is recognized as a GeForce 8600M GT instead of a Quadro FX 570M. Numerous users have reported better performance in DirectX applications and less compatibility issues.

    I have attached it to the original post. In order to properly get it to detect your Quadro as a GeForce you have to alter approximately eight lines of code in the modded inf that involve graphic card detection, nothing else has been modified.
