I just received my laptop today and the box it was shipped in was completely crushed, and the box containing the laptop looked like it had been sat on. It looked like a good deal on the laptop.
It was very poorly packed. They also sent me a mouse as a bonus in a padded envelope.
They're closed for the day, I'm looking forward to dealing with customer service tomorrow.
Are there places that are trustworthy and provide good customer service? One of the reasons I ordered from them was because it was a good deal and I didn't have to pay tax and I'm on a fairly tight budget. I had heard of them, and thought they were ok, or I wouldn't have ordered from them. I guess I had the wrong impression!

Umm, who is "them"?

it's hard to say when you keep on referring to some anonymous third party as "them". maybe you should provide a name at least.

It's a company, I don't feel right announcing their name, I will probably review them once it's resolved.

Without knowing the company, there's little information we can offer or help we can give you. I can only say that I use Resellerratings.com to check out prospective merchants before buying from them. I personally don't think there is any problem in naming the company here, as long as you clearly state what happened and aren't defamatory.
As for who to purchase an x120e from, NewEgg.com carries them, and should be highly reliable. I'm sure CDW does as well, though you might find their price a bit higher. Provantage has a fairly wide selection, and NCIX carries some as well. All of these vendors are large, and highly respected.
Sometimes looking for a rock-bottom dollar price can lead to a vendor whose reliability is less than stellar. The company promising a price lower than anyone else may be cutting corners in the process.
Were you required to sign for the package? Usually if a package is heavily damaged, I would refuse delivery. This could be a case of the shipper being the problem, not the vendor. Was the laptop in a standard Lenovo box? What carrier delivered it to you?
Finally, if you paid by credit card, you have the option if things go poorly with the vendor to file a dispute with your credit card company. I wouldn't do this unless the vendor doesn't properly handle the situation with you, but it is an option, and it's why a credit card is always the best method of payment for a purchase like this (debit cards don't often have the same recourse). Either way, the sign of whether the company your purchased from is a good one or not will come tomorrow when you call their customer service. Every company can make a mistake --it's how they go about fixing them that separates the good ones from the poor ones.
ThinkPad X120e who to order from that's reliable?
