    Greetings:

I just got my new ThinkPad X200 today, and got set up with Verizon Wirelss.

    After connecting to Verizon:

    1. The ThinkVantage Active Connection Manager bombs out blaming Data Execution Protection (DEP). However, after disabling DEP, it still bombs out.

    2. Within 5 to 15 minutes, I get disconnected from Verizon. Sometimes I can reconnect, but most of the time, I need to reboot and start over.

I did run ThinkVantage to get all updates from th start, and Windows Vista Business 64 is up to date.

    Thoughts? Ideas?

    Thank you.

I am not sure about the Verizon issue (I don't have a WWAN card in my x200), but I am experiencing this DEP issue. Whenver I change access connections profile, I get a popup saying that 'Access Connections GUI helper Module has stopped wroking'. I can then check online, close, or debug. If I close it, it goes away and the profile switches (although homepage does not change).

My connection remains stable, but I get this error EVERY time. I like Access Connections because it is much more powerful than the built in Windows service, but right now it is handicapped by this error. Hopefully a newer version (I have 5.02) will fix this problem.

    Greetings:

    Status update:

I called Lenovo technical support, and they are having me exchange the brand new (just came in yesterday) unit with a new one.

The exchange process is interesting as you have to place a brand new order, pay for the order, then go through sales and returns to get an RMA, and they only credit back on the original order after the receipt, qa check, and 8 to 10 days later.

Hopefully the exchange (new) replacement ThinkPad X200 will not have the same problem.

    Thank you.

Wow. That seems like overkill for the problem you are having. Just replacing the WWAN card and/or doing a system restore would probably suffice. But if that's what they want to do I guess it will work.

    Greetings:

Agreed... but on the same token, some how they lost the fact I paid for three years on site (they just had me down for depot service), the tech person stated that if they replaced parts it would be with refurbished parts... and he couldn't see replacing brand new (just got the system yesterday) parts with refurbished parts as being a long term answer.

On that part I do agree; but I'm also hoping when I get the new system in the same problem with the Verizon wireless doesn't keep occurring.

    Thank you.
