    Is this a good price?
If you call in and talk to a representative, will they give you a better price?
Is it a good idea to wait until August when student discounts appear?

In June there was a big sale on the X220 of 25% off plus an 8% cashback with RedFlagDeals.

Are there any similar Canadian deals out there right now?

Calling in or talking online with a sales rep. usually lowers the price by a good amount. If you're a student/etc. make sure you mention it as the they can knock down the price further. I was unable to add coupons when getting a quote from a sales rep., so this is something to keep in mind. In the states they already have the back-to-school sale going on right now, but the discounts are lackluster IMO.

Uhh... That price looks... really high. Given past events, the RedFlagDeals sale will probably be back sometime in the summer, if you are willing to wait. Do you NEED Windows 7 Professional for something? If not, opt for Home Premium instead. Or, if you are going into engineering or something, universities should have free copies of Windows 7 Professional for you anyways. Oh, and, opt for the 9 cell battery; it will give you something like 50% more battery life for like $20 or $50 (it is $20 on the T and W series, but I've seen $50 on some other series).

I always seem to find the RedFlagDeals too late. Is there a way to track them or do you just have to check everyday? Under what catagory/tab was the X220's last deal posted on RFD? (Deal of the Day?/Computer in Hot Deals Forum?)
