I have seen various stories that the 16 gigs DDR3 SODIMM 204 pin modules are coming to market soon. Does it mean my ThinkPad X220, X230, T420s, T430s, and T420 can finally support 32 gigs of ram?

Well if the X220 can't do it, i guess the X230 should be theoretically be capable of supporting such ram limit. Since Intel themselves list supporting 32 gigs max on the Ivy Bridge i7-3520m.

Also, i have tried to order the new ram and do the test myself. The ram is around 300 to 400 USD each.

I'd honestly be far more interested in getting 64GB on W520, since a *30 series machine will never enter my house.

Please do keep us posted is all I can say...apart from "good luck"....
