Can someone, please, check what the RAM specs are for the X230 using HWiNFO32, CPU-Z, or sticker?

I would like to buy a matching 4Gb stick before my X230 arrives so that I can upgrade the RAM right away.

    From the published specs, I know it's PC-12800 1600 Mhz 204-pin

Can you, please, check the voltage (dual 1.35 or 1.5), latency/timing, etc.?

    Thanks in advance.

It depends on which RAM you get, Lenovo uses Samsung, Hynix, and other DRAM manufacturers, so it will depend on which one you get and you won't know until you open it up. Honestly RAM speed has no real world performance gains, just buy the cheapest DDR3 stick you can get.

    Mine was 4GB DDR3-1600 Samsung with 11-11-11 latencies and 1.5V specs. I have immediately replaced it with 2 x 8GB DDR3-1600 with 10-10-10 latencies...

Thanks. So any RAM that is 1600 Mhz regardless of voltage and latency?. My main concern is being able to take advantage of dual-channel.

Here's what came with my X230T.

    x230t_ram.jpg

    It's a DDR3L 1600 speed 4GB stick. I didn't check the SPD timings or anything though.

Probably good idea to get a standard DDR3L 1600 rated 4GB stick.

Thinking about ordering two new RAM modules for my new x230 (still waiting for it to be shipped), wondering whether these would do:
    - Amazon.com: Crucial Technology 16GB (2 X 8GB) 204-Pin SODIMM, DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 Memory Module Kit CT2KIT102464BF160B: Computers & Accessories
    - Amazon.com: Crucial 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3-12800) CL11 SODIMM 204-Pin 1.35V/1.5V Memory Modules For Mac CT2C8G3S160BM: Computers & Accessories (these are for MAC, any differences ?)

    Any better suggestions please ?

And another thing, on Crucial's site for example, i can see these two, similar modules:
    - http://www.crucial.com/store/partspecs.aspx?imodule=CT2KIT102464BF160B
However, the former one is "Guaranteed-compatible with the Lenovo ThinkPad X230" !!
Can't see any differences, would the other one not work properly, what's the reason for this statement ?
    (they are both CL11 modules, 1.35V, 204-pin SODIMM DDR3 PC3-12800)

Looks like it's more of a marketing thing.
Here, one of the mod explains that "for mac" memory is the same as the non-mac version. Just go with the cheapest 1.35V if rest of the spec is the same. Memory prices are not really that low right now, so unless you really need to have 16GB, I would just be done with 8GB for the life of this laptop.
If I were you, and I only had 4 GB RAM, regular HDD, first thing to upgrade would be to get a SSD. mSATA add-on or replace the main SATA drive. Then upgrade RAM to 8GB or 16GB.

I have x230t with 8GB ram, 80GB msata ssd(not being used at all), 256GB ssd.
