A Friend of mine gave me 1 used ThinkPad X40 notebook. Which have.
- Wifi A/B/G standard
- Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network controller
- Running Windows XP SP2
- Everytimes, I connect to and un-sercured AP (eg: At Cafe shop, Public wifi spot..), My X40 can connect to those Networks smoothly. (Without have to type Password)
- But in my office, Everytimes I tried to connect to an Secured Access point (I'm sure I typed correct password). It only show a message "authentication process to connect to the network has not been started", and never can connect.
I've removed Windows XP SP2, then Installed a new one (still XP SP2). But this trouble still occur!
Any one have solution for this? Please help. Thanks

Remove the network in question and try to re-connect.

You can use Lenovo's Access Software and Use different profiles for different location. Which can be easier for you.

First off, great to see you using an X40. I'm still using mine.
For your wireless issue, are you using Lenovo's Access Connections software to manage your wifi? If you are try upgrading to the new version. You may want to make sure you using the latest intel 2200ABG wireless driver aswell, see link below. Before you install software or drivers from the lenovo support sight make sure you read the readme.txt file for each piece of software, print it out if you have to. Sometimes you have to install new versions of other software like powermanager or hotkeys before you can upgrade the software or driver you want. I also recomend looking at the forums on the lenovo support page to see what other people using the ugraded software are saying about it. I think Lenovo is doing a pretty good job of responding to questions and problems in their support page forums.
when you go to lenovo.com, support, downloads and drivers. You can enter in your machine type where it asks for your "product number" to help you find the software specific for your X40. Your machine type is written on the bottom of your X40, mine is 2386-ghu. Then click on "drivers & software" , or just go straight to the link below:

scroll down till you see the link for Access Connections v5.21 that's the latest version.
Here's a link for the driver for the intel ABGwireless card for windows XP:
Make sure to read the readme.txt file first and follow the install instructions.
