I have been holding off buying a laptop to replace my Vaio (PCG-GRZ610) until the Zs were available. I like and need a lot of the business features of the ThinkPads but they did not cater to the business traveler in that they had no fun functionality. I use my laptop exclusively at work (8-10hrs/day) as my desktop so I need a decent size screen to see all the docs, usually 2-3 open at a time. But I also travel a lot, about 50%, so I want a smallish, light laptop that has decent battery life for coast to coast travel and allows me to have fun (movies/games) when in the hotel or on a plane.

I wanted to know if people think the Z60t will offer the capability to enjoy DVDs and occasionally play some games? Or is there something else that will give me good business use, portability, and some fun?

The z60m with the x600 card should offer good gaming performance. The 14" z60t is only offered with an integrated Intel graphics card which won't be much for gaming. If you are looking for a smaller notebook than can game a little I would suggest looking at the Asus W3v also with the x600. Also possibly the Sony BX series with x700 card, but I don't think it is released quite yet.

I'd go with what zazonz said. The Z60t won't be good for gaming. There aren't too many notebooks in the 14" range that are capable. The W3V is one of the only ones I know of.

If you are willing to go to 15.4", you have a ton of options. The dv4000 is actually pretty light - about 6.5 lbs - and thin - 1.2". Might want to look into it. Also, you can get a 128MB X700 in there, which is excellent for gaming.

If you get rid of the gaming requirement, the Z60t is a great option, also consider the Fujitsu S2110. It's light, portable, and gets four hours of battery life. ;)

The Toshiba M50 series can be configured with the Radeon X600.
