It has the metal hinges but the plastic feels flimsy and flexes when you press on it. Any idea?

The Z-class is a business-grade Thinkpad. Which plastic parts are you talking about?
-
I'm talking about the lid.
-
Z61m is a widescreen desktop replacement business grade machine... a cross between the T60 widescreen and R60. The lid for the case is either Titanium or Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic. It flexes a little bit, but not by much.

I was lucky enough to get to write the review for the Z61m. It was a tank as far as I could tell, but I only had it for a month or so.
-
It fell down at 25mph and survived with only a scratch on a lid corner.
I can say it was a business grade baptism
Only an amber ThinkLight and a tank-like weight testify to its consumer grade roots...
 -
Z61m is basically a widescreen desktop replacement laptop, there is nothing consumer about it.... everything about it, is well thought out and engineered. If you look at the consumer laptop range of those years, you would understand what i mean.
