ThinkPad Z61t is up no Lenovo site for sale. I already placed an order on that last night. Spoke with the customer rep and according to them it wont ship until 6-8 weeks.
My current estimated shipping date is showing June 8th.

3-6 weeks we'll see if that hold up.

it seems expensive doesnt it? i know theyre new and just came out but a t60p can be had for almost the same price and as far as i know (with better specs). widescreen laptops dont cost anymore to make. shouldnt the prices be more comperable to the current models? or maybe its just me. i do like the way the z61s look more though...oh well =)
-
Its about time we see another model for sale. And yeah, they do seem pretty expensive.
-
I just called to order this same laptop and was assured by the customer rep (Joe) that the specs listed on the site are the ones listed in the "engineering docs" he had. He told me there are only two z60s available for "preorder" and that both are currently listed on the website with correct specs. I did see the PDF and all that that you have linked above, so I dunno what's going on.
I opted not to order anything at this time. Hmmm...maybe I'll call back and talk to someone else.

I know the screen resolution says WXGA+ but 1280x768 which is wrong because for widescreen you get 1280x800. I know it's going to be 1440 x 900.
I rather take my chances than waiting till all the people ordering which will delay my shipment. I had been waiting for Z61t for a while.
There are only one Z61t and one Z61m available on Lenovo website to order. -
How do you know for sure that it has the high resolution screen? That's my only hold back on making a purchase right now.
BTW, I don't understand why the z61s come standard with a 1-year warranty yet costs as much as 3-year warranty T60s.

You can see the spec at Z61t Hardware Announcement
Also, my order shows up as:
** EXP Z61T T2500 14WXGA+ INT GX 100 1GB MULTI ABGXPP TI VZ FPR
So, I am willing to take my chances, anyways I will have 30 days for trial.Just can't wait for it to arrive. Hope it doesn't get delayed....

Our fingers are crossed for you and a reasonable shipping time. Of course, it will make for an entertaining next few weeks as we keep track of any delays in shipping if you could update us, I'm sensing shades of those that ordered the Z61m
ThinkPad Z61t is on the Lenovo website --- ready for order..
