ThinkPad Z61t is up no Lenovo site for sale. I already placed an order on that last night. Spoke with the customer rep and according to them it won’t ship until 6-8 weeks.

My current estimated shipping date is showing June 8th.

    Z61t link:
    http://www-131.ibm.com/webapp/wcs/s...18425011252&dualCurrId=1000073&catalogId=-840

It shows up as Z60t but once you click to customize it changes to Z61t. It’s just a typo on their website. It’s priced at $1999.99
The model # is 94402CU which is not included in the tabook. It comes with the following options:

    1. 100.0 GB at 5400 rpm,
    2. Intel Core Duo processor T2500,
    3. 1 GB (2 x 512 MB SO DIMMs),
    4. 14.1-in widescreen TFT (1440 x 900), (current spec shows resolution as 1280x768)
    5. DVD Recordable, Intel 945GM,
    6. Intel Graphics Media
    7. Accelerator 950 chipset,
    8. Integrated camera, 4-cell battery, (currently website doesn’t show that it has the camera)
    9. Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG,
    10. Bluetooth wireless technology,
    11. Verizon Wireless Broadband Access,
    12. Client Security Solution,
    13. Fingerprint reader, IEEE 1394,
    14. Titanium top cover

NOTE: Some of the specs won't show up on the product info page....

The specs are detailed in this page:
    http://www-306.ibm.com/common/ssi/O...esc=Announcement+Letters&panelurl=&paneltext=

it seems expensive doesnt it? i know theyre new and just came out but a t60p can be had for almost the same price and as far as i know (with better specs). widescreen laptops dont cost anymore to make. shouldnt the prices be more comperable to the current models? or maybe its just me. i do like the way the z61s look more though...oh well =)

Its about time we see another model for sale. And yeah, they do seem pretty expensive.

I just called to order this same laptop and was assured by the customer rep (Joe) that the specs listed on the site are the ones listed in the "engineering docs" he had. He told me there are only two z60s available for "preorder" and that both are currently listed on the website with correct specs. I did see the PDF and all that that you have linked above, so I dunno what's going on.

I opted not to order anything at this time. Hmmm...maybe I'll call back and talk to someone else.

You are absolutely correct about the rep. The rep is saying whatever he sees on the screen or Lenovo website. After I click Continue this is what i see:

    ThinkPad Z61t 94402CU
Description Part no Unit price* Quantity Price* (Price is taken out -- EPP Price)
    Processor: Intel Core Duo processor T2500 (2GHz, 2MB L2, 667MHz FSB) (Standard)
Operating system: Genuine Windows XP Professional (Standard)
Display type: 14.1 inch WXGA+ (1280x768) MaxBright TFT (Standard)
    Memory: 2 - 512MB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM (Standard)
Graphics: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 (Standard)
Ports: 3 USB 2.0 (back), IEEE 1394, 3-1 digital media reader (SD/XD/MMC), S-Video out, External Display, External Microphone/Line-In, Headphone / Line out (Standard)
Hard drive: 100GB, 5400rpm Serial ATA (Standard)
Optical device: 8X Max DVD Recordable ATAPI Ultrabay Slim drive (Standard)
Integrated data/fax modem: 56K V.92 Designed Modem (Standard)
Integrated Ethernet: Integrated Gigabit Ethernet (Standard)
Integrated WiFi wireless LAN: Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG and Bluetooth (Standard)
Integrated wireless WAN: Verizon Sierra CDMA2000 (Standard)
    Keyboard: ThinkPad Fullsize (Standard)
    Pointing device: ThinkPad UltraNav (Standard)
Battery: 4 Cell Lithium Ion Battery (Standard)
Security: Client Security Solution and Integrated fingerprint reader (Standard)

I know the screen resolution says WXGA+ but 1280x768 which is wrong because for widescreen you get 1280x800. I know it's going to be 1440 x 900.

I rather take my chances than waiting till all the people ordering which will delay my shipment. I had been waiting for Z61t for a while.

There are only one Z61t and one Z61m available on Lenovo website to order. ;)

How do you know for sure that it has the high resolution screen? That's my only hold back on making a purchase right now.

BTW, I don't understand why the z61s come standard with a 1-year warranty yet costs as much as 3-year warranty T60s.

You can see the spec at Z61t Hardware Announcement

Also, my order shows up as:
    ** EXP Z61T T2500 14WXGA+ INT GX 100 1GB MULTI ABGXPP TI VZ FPR

So, I am willing to take my chances, anyways I will have 30 days for trial. :) Just can't wait for it to arrive. Hope it doesn't get delayed.... ;)

Our fingers are crossed for you and a reasonable shipping time. Of course, it will make for an entertaining next few weeks as we keep track of any delays in shipping if you could update us, I'm sensing shades of those that ordered the Z61m :)
