    This is interesting.....

Steve Jobs introduced a new thin Mac today by opening an envelope and pulling it out.

Yea, I just saw the keynote presentation. The new Mac is called Macbook Air. It's really incredible stuff. Made to be wireless though.

This looks like a ripoff.

    Still funny though.

I did see it. It's tiny, thin and attractive and makes a thinkpad look bad in those dimensions. But at least I can have some confidence that my thinkpad is not going to blow off my desk in the next strong wind.

I agree, the lack of ports on it are ridiculous. I would purchase an X series over the MBA any day and would still have money to buy a bunch of accessories for it. Plus, Penryn will be available for the X series soon. :D

It's real; although it doesn't look like any current ThinkPad because of that hinge design. Must be a new X series.

It must be that new X series that everyone has been talking about. I'll miss the steel hinges though.

Early to assume they are not just black steel hinges.

Does anyone have a link discussing the new X series? I can't find anything about a Thinkpad as small as the picture at the top of the thread.

Is it certain that pic isn't a hoax, a parody of the new MB Air intro?

Thanks for the link, but I'm not sure that the machine shown in this thread is the same as the one in the X200 thread. Pictures in the latter thread show a machine with the traditional TP hinges, while the supposed TP in this thread looks much smaller and has hinges that are much wider.

I'm still not too sure that the thread-starter pic is authentic.
