Yeah I loved mine too, but also needed a more portable laptop so I got the t400 and not too long I gave it to my brother cause he needed one. I am excited to see what the 500 and 400 refresh will be hardware wise.

    9. ability to add things to it without voiding the warranty (turbo memory now, will add hsdpa modem soon, also will change the hdd into an ssd)
    10. all the antennas are there, properly places (by "are there" i mean i really get 3 antennas for the intel 5300 - the same can't be said for some other brands, also i have the wireless usb antenna in place too, even without actually having wireless usb!)

I have 2. Im 26 and live with my wife so I know I dont have to give them laptops, but the older one (17) got my HP tx2510US tablet late last year and the younger one (15) got my dell vostro a month or so ago. I miss it like hell and have realized I cannot live without a 17in full keyboard WUXGA PC, hence why my t400 stays docked 90% of the time to two 24in lcds. Dont get me wrong I LOVE my t400, I just wish I had the money to get the w700 instead.

WHAT?! there are other brands also?!?! :)

seriously, I think that the thinkpad brand is totaly aimed to make you work in maximum efficiency. we are all here because we are more into notebooks than other, but in the end of the day we still got a work to do. Thinkpads just help you in the way of getting your job done, instead of having to deal with the notebook itself.

W700 is good, but somehow i am just not into super huge screen LCD laptops. I just got a 27inch Imac, and so far loving it. The Apple keyboard really is one of the worst ever, do Apple fan like typing on a tablet top with absolute no feedback?

Yeah my wife has a 2007 macbook and the keyboard is really terrible. The spacing is way off and the keys dont inspire confidence.

See I do alot of multitasking so having a high res screen is a must. I have tried to work on a 14.1 screen alone but it just doesnt work out well. Also a full sized numpad (standard layout) is a pretty big feature, and you can only get that in a 17in 16:10 PC.
