    Hello everyone,

    Even though I just registered myself a couple of minutes ago, I have been a frequent visitor to this amazing forum.

    I had purchased an R50e in the first week of September and according to the online status, it was supposed to ship sometime in the first week of October. Three days ago, I decided to cancel my order and purchase a higher end R52. The Lenovo customer support personnel said that my order would be cancelled within 48 hours. I wanted a confirmation about the cancellation before I proceeded to purchase the R52.

    When I checked the online status today, it said that the R50e had been shipped!

    I wanted to know whether it would be possible to return the R50e w/o paying the shipping charges and get a full refund.

    Thanks.

    This is going to be a little tricky, since they probably tried to cancel but it had already shipped and your status jsut wasn't updated. You can probably talk your way out of it though, good luck.

    You should be able to get the order returned without you paying for shipping. When you call for an RMA you need to say that this order was confirmed canceled, would be great if you have the name of the person you talked to, and that you need to have it sent back. The catch is you will likely need to wait about 10 or so days for the credit to get posted so you will not ba able to get something new until that happens.

    Just tell UPS, FEDEX or whoever delivers it you don't want it and they will take it back to IBM. Leave a note on the door in big letters if you are not going to be home. Also tell them not to deliver it next door.

    @all:
    Thanks for the suggestions and advice. It seems that I'll have to pay for shipping it back to Lenovo. :(
    According to the Lenovo customer support staff, a request for cancellation of my order had been placed but it wasn't confirmed.
