I am building a profile for my home wireless network and am unable to have ThinkVantage Access software 'associate' with my network when I use the WEP 128 encryption key. If I turn encryption off on my network and build a profile that does not require encryption the connection works great. I have installed this network on a Dell and a iMac with encryption and they work great. What's the deal with ThinkVantage! BTW, I turned the windows firewall OFF just to see if that made a difference - it didn't. Thanks in advance for your help. JLF2

    Strange...

However, just FYI, WEP is pointless. WPA AES or WPA2 is the only way to go if you actually want some sort of security.

Wow, that was quick! Yeah I know it's old, but the network here at the house was put up 4 years ago so I just wanted to go with it. This is a residential area and not many of my neighbors are close enough to 'catch my signal'. Thanks for your input !
