Hello,
I've been searching in vain for two days and finally found what I was looking for: the fancy battery "gauge" that resides on the taskbar itself (not the systray) I had seen on a ThinkPad notebook after I purchased my Lenovo 3000 N200.
Unfortunately, after I installed the Power MaxiMiser it: 1) displayed an error that it could not run on VIsta (despite the fact that I had downloaded the Vista-version) and 2) saddest of all - did not recognize my batter! Just kept diplaying a no-battery-installed message.
Could you tell me if there is a way to get it to work on my laptop? Or perhaps find a similar program that does not depend on computer brand?
Thanks so much!

Have you tried the Lenovo EnergyCut?
You can download that from Lenovo's website under Y series. -
Doesn't work it must be a bios or motherboard difference. I missed it enough it made me buy a new R61 a few days ago, the ability to have it stop charging so I can leave the battery in and not have it top off all the time is worth it.

I believe that the thinkvantage only works on the thinkpads.

It does I tried installing it on my Lenovo 3000 and had the same issue as caradhras.
