Mark Lenovo posted "Support for SP2 Vista and Windows 7 are future items as they would cause further delay."

It does not work on Vista SP2 or Win7. Mark@Lenovo said that supporting Vista SP2 or Win7 would have caused delay in re-introducing TVSU.

    For Win Vista sp2 users
    replace Mappinginterface.xml at
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Lenovo\System Update\session\system\SSClientCommon\MappingInterface.xml

    o well download
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=34525&d=1243843279

    replace mappinginterface.xml
    it shall work

Great news! But I think that link requires registration, and dumb blokes like me can't read Chinese :( Can we get an alternate download location, or at least instructions on what needs to be altered?

I just got my first ThinkPad last Friday. I was excited to see this integrated update and then my happiness turned to dissapointment when I found out I couldn't use it.

Monday morning and I'm happy again! I get to try this bad boy out for the very first time.

This sure looks to be much easier than hunting and pecking through a gigantor list of drivers. Woot!

    Thanks for the update.

    Oh, food for thought:

This system came down Apr 1st and is back up May 31st because of customer complaints? Yet they had to revamp the backend?

Translation: Our system sucked; we knew it, so we took it down on April 1 to fix it. During that time we we made the illusion that it was done for good to create a buzz in the community. Two months later (when we fixed it), we brought it back because the community wanted it.

    LOL.

I keep getting Error 75 message from server asking me to contact support even after replacing file. Any ideas? Is server just overloaded now? Thanks.

It might be something else. I was upgrading my drivers and the download was extremely fast (even faster than before). Check on the Lenovo help forum.

Currently, my Windows 7 in English is detected as Vista in another language. The second language is probably because of the language's keyboard and time settings are enabled, but I prefer the language to be English.

Any way I can change both or either of the two?

Today was the first time using the update system so I was pretty jazzed. It took forever as my t500 is new but that's to be expected. Anyway, afterwards I had major issues with my wifi. It would cut out randomly and I would have to hit fn+f5 to turn it back on.

After several reinstalls of different drivers, I decided to just uninstall the Access Connections program. A few hours later and I've had no issues. I just wanted to put this out there in case someone else runs into something similar.

I removed Access as well. In the beginning it seemed like a pretty neat application. After a while it just seemed bloated and dragging my system down when unplugged. Everything works fine without it.

When it comes to wi-fi, I prefer to install as little as possible. If it works, I won't tamper with it.

I also found out that the microphone didn't work if I installed the sound drivers. So there. :p

Word of caution to SP2 users changing the XML file to trick TVSU into thinking they have a supported OS - It will probably work fine for most updates, but if Lenovo releases an update that is not compatible with SP2, you will be on your own - no support from Lenovo when it breaks. That is why it is not supported. They are not testing the updates with SP2 yet...

I think Bsodder just try to address the legal matters and protental risks, however, most of us who bought ThinkPads is because the build quality and being able to do modificaiton to the system :D. I don't think the XML I post will do any harm to ur system but I have to point out that it's ur own risk if anything happen to ur system or ur file :D

    Cheers

Do you have any other solution for this problem? In my case the differnece is: I have t60 (with windows 7), and the system update v4 generates the same error, but i couldn't fix with pasting the xml file you linked. I think it's and old mappinginterface.xml for win7 . If you have any other good solution for me, i would be very grateful.

    Thank you
